QUESTION: I was a shia (twelver/imamiyya) before & after sometime I left shi’ism and stopped praying and fasting for about 6/7 years due to misguidance thinking islam is not for me. Alhamdulillah, recently I reverted back to straight path of Islam this time. I was wondering the rules for me regarding those missed prayers/fasts?

ANSWER: Nothing to be done about them as you were not Muslim at that time. Thank Allah and praise Him for guiding you and do righteous deeds and Allah will forgive your previous sins.

QUESTION: Sheikh my father does udhiyah every year اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّٰهِ and that is one lamb for the family of 4 who lives under him; including himself ( my brother lives abroad with his wife and two kids and he sometimes either share the money or do it completely. I have been earning for 1.5 year and i saved money from comity to do it this year. Sheikh i wanted to know if i can pay for it under my mother’s name

ANSWER: This udhiya is sufficient for your father and all those living under his roof regardless whether they are earning or not. Your brother who lives abroad has to offer his own on behalf of himself and his family.

QUESTION: Can I pray qasr when i went to study in other city even if i will be staying with my father’s second family?

QUESTION: When we see someone praying in the wrong direction of the qibla should we let them finish their prayer and let them know afterwards or should we interrupt them during their prayer and tell them that they are not facing the direction of the qibla?

ANSWER: If there is food stuck in your teeth, there is no problem in taking it out and throwing it away or swallowing it if you are not fasting or praying.

QUESTION: I don’t get the same satisfaction as before when I pray Salah and when I repeat the translation of surah Faatiha in my mind after every verse, I forget everything, and start again, so now I read without repeating the translation in my mind, but still in surah Faatiah, I repeat verses again and again and I feel as if I have made some mistake. Will Allah accept my prayers if i pray without translt?

ANSWER: The prayer is valid. By repeating over and over again, you are obeying satan and making it hard on yourself which makes you lose the sweetness of prayer and this is the objective of satan!

QUESTION: In the masjid I go to, people pray Tahiyatul Masjid and after that Adhan is called and then people stand up to pray 2-4 Rakat and after that Khutbah starts then the Iqamah and then 2 Rakat Jummah prayer and after that you can do 2-4 Rakat Sunnah prayer in the masjid. As far as I know there is no Sunnah before Jummah except Tahiyatul are the 2-4 Rakats after the Adhan an innovation?

ANSWER: There are no Sunnah prayers before Friday prayer except the two rakahs of Tahiyatul Masjid that you must pray before sitting down and the general voluntary nafl that is not restricted to a particular number until the Imam comes out.
