QUESTION: Sheikh is it okay to pray in the same spot after fard if I say adhkar

ANSWER: It is an issue of dispute. I am inclined to the opinion that says one must change his position after the fard or speak to someone else next to him.

QUESTION: In Salah, I recite Fatiha and Surah in Arabic by moving my lips but I also recite its meaning afterwards in my own language without moving my lips(in the heart). Thus, I find khushu in my prayers. Is this permissible to do?

ANSWER: If the meaning in English crosses your mind, this is fine. But if you pause for few minutes after reciting it in Arabic to do that in English in your head, this is an innovation and pausing in prayer without any valid reason and it would nullify it.

QUESTION: Is it from the sunnah to raise the index finger in qiyam during salah when Allah’s name is mentioned in the ayahs being recited?

ANSWER: Yes. The rows don’t have to be filled and the virtue in having more rows is better.

QUESTION: I am a Doctor, and my workplace is 115 kms away from my home. I travel back & forth twice weekly, stay there, work and return home. During this time, can I shorten and combine my prayers?

ANSWER: No. You must pray in full at the place you work because you are a resident there and also pray normally at your hometown but you pray like a traveller during the actual journey.

QUESTION: The other day I came to the masjid and I quickly prayed the 2 sunnah and then joined the imam in ruku’ is my salah valid? Since I had the option of praying sunnah later?

ANSWER: If you started your prayer while the fard prayer was ongoing, your sunnah prayer is invalid.

QUESTION: I want to know about paying zakat, especially the 2.5% part to help those in need. I’m already paying over 15% in taxes to the government, plus some indirect taxes that helps people of county. Could you guide me on this?

ANSWER: Zakat is what Allah obligated upon those who have wealth that exceed the threshold. This has nothing to do with how much taxes you are paying.
