QUESTION: I live far away from my family due to work. Should I also offer animal sacrifice on Eid al Adha or it would be sufficient if my Father offers the sacrifice? I’m asking this because I’m not married and my family members are barelvi.

ANSWER: If you are financially independent or can afford it, you should offer this sacrifice on the day of eid. Your intention before or after the month starts has no significance except in refraining from clipping your nails or cutting your hair.

QUESTION: My dad manages my zakah and my bank. I informed him i have lots of money in my cupboard since many years. He told me that’s ok because he pays extra zakah every year so it gets covered in that. Is it ok? I am confused because of the niyah aspect of it.

ANSWER: This is permissible but it is not per the sunnah The sunnah is to divide each sacrifice into three parts If someone sacrificed 3 sheep, made one charity, one as a gift and the 3rd for himself to eat from, that is wrong! The sunnah is to divide each sheep to three parts

ANSWER: If the athan has already been given in any masjid in your city, there’s no need for you to give it. You should give the Iqamah before praying as this is a highly recommended sunnah but not mandatory.

QUESTION: If I pray with shoes on I go into sujood and I can’t feel my toes touch the ground but I know the tip of my shoes do. is the prayer still valid?

ANSWER: This is not permissible! You must pray all your prayers on time. You must have a coffee break or time out to go to the toilet every now and then! Pray then.

QUESTION: I am going for Hajj this year Inshallah. I will be going straight to Makkah and staying there for 12 days before going to Mina on 8th of Zul hijjah for Hajj. ANSWER: In the masjid you must follow the imam and pray in full, normally. Who in his right mind would go to Makkah and pray in his hotel room and skip the masjid?
