QUESTION: If Im eating and its time for iqamah there is a hadith that states I should start with the food first, but should I eat a little bit and then go to pray or finish my food and then pray?

ANSWER: You can eat a little which takes the food out of your mind and go join the prayer.

QUESTION: I am trying to improve my speed but unfortunately I miss the fatiha in third rakah of every maghrib congregational prayer. is my prayer valid if I add an extra rakah every time or just avoid congregational prayer completely

QUESTION: There’s a masjid near my house in which everyday after fazr salah, the imams and some other send durood to our Prophet together by singing in Urdu and they say a sentence, ” Ya Nabi send us your blessings and forgive us for our shortcomings” , can I pray behind such imams?

ANSWER: If they believe that the prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam controls the universe or they invoke the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam then this is shirk & you can’t pray behind such an imam!

QUESTION: If in congregation i realized at start of sujood that hands were not aligned parallel to each other so i tried to move them by dragging them on the ground twice, but doing this might have taken nearly half of the duration of the sujood, is my prayer valid, and am i overthinking?

ANSWER: You need to bring a measuring rod or a ruler to ensure that your hands are aligned correctly!!! You are playing and not praying my friend.

QUESTION: My father-in-law – wife’s father and husband of my maternal aunt, needed an urgent medical surgery which he couldn’t afford due to his financial condition. He has a home where he lives but no sellable property or savings. He lives on monthly pension money from Govt. job. Alhamdulillah, I was able to pay his medical treatment cost. Can I count this as Advance Zakat for my next Zakat year?

QUESTION: It’s said if u are intoxicated, your prayers aren’t accepted for 40 days. How does this work? Say if u get intoxicated once, then after 20 days u get intoxicated again, will the punishment days add on and your prayers won’t be accepted for the next 20+40 days OR will the punishment reset to 40 days?

ANSWER: Someone who did this major sin twice in 3 weeks, surely he doesn’t care about his prayers whether it is not accepted for 40, 60 or 80 days !

QUESTION: In my masjid there is imbalance in the rows. I mean there are 8 men on left side and 15 men on the right side from the imam. My father stops me from joining the row where there is imbalance and calls my prayer null if I join prayer on that side. Is my prayer null or can I join the row where there is imbalance?

ANSWER: What your father has said is totally wrong! It’s highly recommended to keep the balance between left & right side of imam but if it’s not kept, this is going against the highly recommended sunnah but this does not invalidate the prayer

QUESTION: I live in india,in the masjid, most people follow hanafi, usually don’t pray feet-to-feet leaving small gaps,when joining the congregation, I sometimes find small spots on the extreme sides. I avoid these spots as they are too small, and most probably people won’t move during salah, if i tap them on their shoulders. If I join the second row or form a second row if it’s not there, Is this correct?
