Q&A/Fatwas

Is it true that on the day of judgement our sunnah and nawafil prayers will make up for missed fardh prayers? Is there any authenticity in this

If a person has repented, Allah will compensate the missing and the shortcomings in prayers with such voluntary prayers.

I am a female. Can I pray without socks? Its really hot. Is it fard to wear socks when I pray salaah?

Prayer, Women clothing

The feet must be covered during prayer whether with socks or a long dress. Kindly refer to the following link(s): Ruling concerning women covering their feet in prayer | By Assim Al Hakeem https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zSOyAW4-VY https://www.assimalhakeem.net/what-is-the-ruling-for-woman-praying-or-going-out-in-open-shoes-without-socks/

I’ve heard that while going for sujood first we should put our hands on the ground then the knees is it really authentic. I found this info on Facebook mentioning it as a hadith from abu daud

I support going on the hands first as Sheikh Al Albani explained.

sheikh…usually i pray isha after that 2 raqah sunnah…then 2+1 raqah witr..i go to sleep and wake up for thahajjud about 45 min b4 fajr …pray 2rakah thahajjud prolonging it for 30mins and recite quran upto fajr… am i doing correct or should i need to adjust anything in my witr or thahajjud prayers?

Witr should be the last prayer you do. If you wake up every night, Delay your witr so you pray it after tahajjud and just before fajr.

What is the sunnah to eat before or after the eid salah?

The sunnah in Eidul Ad’ha is to eat from the sacrifice that one had slaughtered. As for eidul Fitr, one should eat before going to the prayer odd number of dates.

If the growth of pubic hair and mustache is faster, can it be shaved before the sacrifice??? For the person who intends to sacrifice!

No

I hope you are well. I prayed my fajr salaah the other day at 4.20am in the morning starting with the two sunnah Rakat. I didn’t realise that the time for fajr was actually 4.23am so I prayed earlier than I should. Does my Fardh prayer (which I did after my sunnah) still count?

Prayer

If you started your Fard prayer after 4:23, your prayer is valid but your sunnah prayer is not.

Does a person who’s paying to have their Qurbani slaughtered for them, have to refrain from clipping their nails and hair during the first 9 days of Dhul Hijj?

Yes

If we pray eid on jumaa day, what is hukum regarding afternoon jumaa, do we have to pray as well?

Prayer

Those who pray Eid are exempted from attending Friday prayer on the same day but must pray it (thuhur) in their homes.

My husband is eligible to receive zakat (he has no income) and I want to give him my zakat. If he keeps the zakat cash that I gave him at home and I spend out of it for me or our child, is it wrong? Usually he comes home late and I can go out (with my husband’s permission) and get our necessities whenever I need it easily.

Zakat

24 Aug

You can give zakat for your husband, providing you give it to him cash in his hand to possess.
