If I catch the imam at 2nd rak’ah, which is my first rak’ah at zuhr or asr prayer, how do I sit for tashahud after my 2nd rak’ah? Because it’s imam’s third rak’ah and he’ll stand for his fourth rak’ah. Please sheikh I need brief explanation of my prayer at such situations.

ANSWER: You follow the Imam in exactly how he prays and you don’t sit in tashahud after YOUR 2nd rakah rather you sit with him after HIS 2nd rakha, HIS 4th rakah and you get up after he concluds his prayer and continue to pray and sit after your last rakah.

While praying behind the Imam do I have to go to Ruku or Sujood as soon as I listen to ‘Allah’ or do I have to wait to listen ‘Allahu Akbar’ fully then move myself for Ruku or Sujood?

ANSWER: The sunnah is not to move until the imam has reached his destination.

After Jummah prayer I was in a dilemma to either give my money to the poor(frequent visitors) or to give it for a construction of a masjid(one time visit). I ultimately gave it to the Masjid construction. Since Zakat is mentioned more in the Quran, should I have given it to the poor?

ANSWER: This is not zakat, this is charity. You must give your zakat out again to the 8 categories mentioned in the Quran. Give it to the poor and needy Muslims as Zakat must be given to a poor or needy Muslims in the form of cash to do with as they please.

Must we recite the takbeers (Allahu Akbar), attahiyat, zikr in ruku & sajdas behind the imam or his recitation is sufficient?

Should a woman have to cover her chin while praying her prayers?

ANSWER: Chin can be seen but not the lower portion of the chin.

While praying behind Imam from 1st rakah due to some distraction I said Rabbigh firli instead of Subhana Rabiyal aala in the 1st sujood and realised it while sit up from 1st sujood but I correct myself in the 2nd sujood. In such condition what should I do?

ANSWER: Nothing, as the imam carries your mistake since you joined him from the very beginning.

I sometime wake up late for fajar salat but when I do wake up I read straight away, and I read 2 Rakat sunnat and 2 Rakat fard is that right or do I just read fard only thank you

ANSWER: If you wake up before sunrise and you are able to finish it all before it begins to rise, this is the right thing to do. But if you wake up and there is very little time to pray, you must pray the fard first and then pray the sunnah.

Is Congregational Prayer on the streets outside of Kaaba valid?

ANSWER: Yes, it’s valid as long as the rows are connected.

If a person deliberately swallow food-Rests in fard prayer. Is this kufr? Is his prayer void?

ANSWER: This is not kufr however, the prayer is not valid.

I joined at fourth rak’ah with imam at ‘Asr prayer and considered it as my fourth rak’ah as well. Then I followed the imam till salam and after his salam, I stood up and firstly prayed the two rak’ahs as I pray usually then I sat for tashahud and finally prayed my third rak’ah, then I sat again and concluded my prayer after tashahud, darud etc and salaam. Is my prayer ok?

ANSWER: The prayer was invalid. The Rakah you prayed with the imam was your first. This means that after his salam, you should have prayed one more Rakah and sat for the tashahud as it was your second. And then you complete your 3rd and 4th Rakah.
