Where I’m from, some scholars say hair extensions are allowed so long as it’s not human hair or looks like your hair e.g horse hair so things like wool,Brazilian wool or thread are allowed.Some say it is allowed so long as it doesn’t exceed your natural hair length and others say It’s completely prohibited. A lot of us braid as protective styling. Please clarify.

ANSWER: It is not permissible to have eyelash extensions! The wudhu would be invalid.

I know that threading or plucking the eyebrows to shape them is haram….but here in the middle east a lot of women bleach the outside hair of the eyebrows to make them look neat and shaped. Is this practice halal? Also can women remove hair from the forehead or that too is haram?

ANSWER: No problem in bleaching the extra hair from the eyebrows, providing you do not expose this in front of non mehram men and while going out. No problem in removing forehead hair.

Elders say trimming nails and hair on wednesdays are not good.is it true? And applying nail polish for a function and removing it during prayers is permissible?

Is it permissable to go to marriages applying makeup and wearing expensive clothes where there is segregation of males amd females but is extravagantly decorated? The waiters are males,or should we go in hijab just to maintain the family realtionship?

ANSWER: This is absolutely prohibited and a major sin. You can bleach the extra hair if you want but you must not cut, shave or remove the eyebrow hair at all.

Is covering the head is awrah for a woman? If she doesn’t cover and reveal her hair in front of non mahram men, is it a major sin? What is the severity and punishment for it according to the Quran and Sunnah?
