When making dua, you should send salutations on Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, not when making dhikr. 

QUESTION: We are advised to do istighfar more often. Someone said to me that it’s important to recite darood inrahimi before and after recting the istighfar (so it is to be accepted).Is it so?
