ANSWER:

They have no right to stop you from marrying if you are financially independent and can take care of your wife and open up a home for her.

Your brother’s marriage has nothing to do with you getting married. You can get married even if they are not ok with that. 

QUESTION: Sheikh, I will complete medical school this year and my elder brother is lagging behind by a few years. I’m ready for marriage and so is the person I want to marry. I have expressed my desire to my parents. They refused my request because they want me to wait for my brother and think it’s selfish for me to marry when his education hasn’t been completed. What should I do in this situation?
