ANSWER:

Yes, you must not allow her to leave the house while not abiding by the proper hijab. If she doesn’t want to comply regardless of all your advice and effort, you can consider giving her an ultimatum before divorcing her as this is a make it or break it issue. 

QUESTION: I’m newly married and my wife is a good practicing Muslim but she doesn’t do hijab when going out however she put scarf on her head. She thinks hijab will make her look very odd. I’ve tried several times to convince her for hijab but in vain. I don’t want to be harsh on her but I silently pray Allah SWT to give her hidayah. Am i dayooth if i Don’t be strict on her?
