You are obligated to provide for your wife and children and will be accountable for that. Supporting your parents is virtuous, but if you cannot afford it, you are not sinful.

QUESTION: If I were to carry out full financial responsibilities towards my wife, I can’t help out my elderly parents. My dad can’t find a job and my mum has to work to make ends meet. On paper, it is a man’s duty to work and spend on his family, but the reality may not be so straightforward. How to go about?
