ANSWER:

The iddah after khula is one monthly cycle and not 100 days! What this man said is baseless! 

The moment the husband accepts khula and takes back the mahr, your iddah of one monthly cycle starts. You are not a widow and you can leave the house and go out wherever you want and adorn yourself in front of other women or your mahram men without a problem.

QUESTION: I and my husband we separated 6 months ago and I got my Khula recently, the day I got my khula the Qazi told me that my iddah period of 100 days has started. In this period can I not visit my relatives? And how long is this period if I haven’t been in contact with my ex husband?
