QUESTION: Taraweeh is prayed at a local hotel where the men and women are in the same room. The women are in the rows located in the back, but there is no barrier between the last row of the men and the first row of the women. Is it permissible to pray in this setting?

ANSWER: This is the sunnah and this is how prayers were held during the times of the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam.

QUESTION: Shaykh I pray isha at home when I go to the masjid I found the imam still praying isha the last rakah I prayed with them as the prophet s.c.w pray it would nafil but how should I pray the other rakats I missed the imam don’t give enough time to pray he immediately starts taraweeh should I pray when they finish taraweeh

ANSWER: No, you must complete your isha first and then join the imam in taraweeh even if you missed some of it. It is your fault for being this late for isha.

QUESTION: In our masjid at last 10 nights of Ramadan they pray Tahajjud beside Taraweeh. So whoever wants to come for Tahajjud after Taraweeh, doesn’t offer Witr prayer after Taraweeh. If someone prays taraweeh and then leaves without praying witr, will he get the reward of praying whole night?

ANSWER: It is not permissible for such a masjid to conduct two witr prayers on the same night, one after taraweeh and the other is after tahajjdu. This is prohibited and a bid’ah.

QUESTION: My question is, here in subcontinent some mosques give salaam/salaat on prophets in loud speakers after the taraweeh prayer(mostly given by children)..is this permissible? When I say people it’s not appropriate,they say what’s wrong in giving salutations to the prophets and also they say that this is done in order to encourage children to pray all 20 rakah of taraweeh.

ANSWER: It is not permissible and an innovation.

QUESTION: Imam in my masjid prayed witr after taraweeh, but then AGAIN a different imam prayed witr after praying qayaam ul layl at the same night. Is this wrong? Praying 2 witrs? And I heard that after witr we shouldn’t pray anything for the day. So what’s the complete ruling on witr? For Ramadan and in general? For Ramadan, I’m praying tahajjud after praying witr. Am I wrong?

ANSWER: This is wrong of that masjid. You must stand up after the 1st imam finishes witr and add one rakah to make it even and then pray normally with the 2nd imam.

QUESTION: In my place when people pray in the masjid during Jumu’ah and taraweeh, they block a 80-100 meters long busy road and pray outside the masjid, which usually lasts for 45 minutes in Jumu’ah and 1 hours 45 minutes in taraweeh. Is this permissible?

QUESTION: There is a hadith where it is mentioned that Allah(swt) smiles at 3 persons and one of them is a man who leaves his beautiful spouse and a comfortable bedding in the middle of the night to worship Allah(swt). is this Hadith talking only abt men? if so what can a women do to make Allah(swt) smile at her?

QUESTION: Sheikh i recently moved to US not long ago so during this Ramadan during taraweeh Salah my uncle leads us during Salah but his prayer is very very fast and I can’t keep up with it but I don’t know what to do should I pray my Salah on my own or should I still pray with him as we all pray together I don’t know escuses to give for me not to pray with him

ANSWER: If his prayer is too fast to the extent that you are unable to catch up in pillars, you must not pray behind him. You can advise him diplomatically one to one and not in front of others.
