QUESTION: Sheikh, is it true that some of the Salaf used to wipe their face after dua, hence it doesn’t become a bid’ah. Can you please clarify?

ANSWER: What counts is whether the prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam and his companions did it or not! What others did after that doesn’t count to be part of Islam as the religion was completed at the time of the prophet and wiping the face was not part of it.

QUESTION: If I make a dua for protection to Allah, but I don’t necessarily believe that Allah is going to protect me, rather I believe that after making this dua I can be harmed or protected but it is gonna be for my benefit, is this a proper mindset?

ANSWER: No. Once you make dua for protection, you believe firmly that Allah will protect you.

ANSWER: This is not from the sunnah and it is an innovation. One can blow on his hands and wipe his body if he is reciting ruqya for healing and cure.

ANSWER: There is no dua for doing ghusl. The intention is in the heart.

QUESTION: There is a hadith that states that a perosn who reads ayatul kursi after every fardh salah will go to jannah instantly after death. I assume that means that the stages (questioniing in grave, barzakh and day of judgement) will not exist for this person.
