QUESTION: My husband wants to celebrate new year with his non-muslim friends group that do all sorts of bad habits such as alcohol, drugs etc. My husband he prays 5x a day and fasts and does not consume alcohol. As a wife can I tell him not to associate himself with such people? His answer always is that I don’t do it im not committing sins.

QUESTION: I’m very much addicted in listening to Urdu naats of a beautiful famous teenage boy. His name is Ghulam Mustafa Qadri. I suspect he is from the berelvi sect. But i skip/avoid those parts of naats when i smell shirk. Like chanting ya rasullah. Is it shirk? And will i commit kufr if i just listen not saying in mouth.

ANSWER: It’s not permissible to listen to nasheeds from such sufi barelvi people as they would contain shirk. Even without shrik, it corrupts the heart and hardens it and one would prefer listening to it than listening to the Quran.

QUESTION: I’m being invited to a mehndi function where there is going to be segregation between men and women. There is going to be no music in the men’s section. However, music will be played in the women’s section. Me being a male, if I go to such a function will I be sinful? Considering there is going to be no music in my section

QUESTION: Sheikh someone i know is a fan of the korean band BTS, she refrains to support them at times knowing it’s haram to do so. Can she pray to allah that he guides them to the straight path, they embrace islam and leave all haram things that they do ?

ANSWER: No problem in making dua for them while they’re alive. It’s not permissible to follow them as music is totally prohibited in islam.

QUESTION: There’s a festival in my school where there is free mixing, dancing, and singing. For service credit my friends want to join the backstage crew and help with the lights. My friends are not partaking in any of the activities only helping back stage. Is this permissible? I advised them it’s haram and my heart says no.

ANSWER: If this doesn’t contain their flags or logos that contains a cross or something prohibited or the names of a kafir player, this seems permissible though it is not recommended.

QUESTION: How can Muslim women compete in professional sports when there are cameras all around nowadays and many other difficulties every step of the way? And if there are no women in professional sports, wouldn’t our religion be looked down by others ? Is it better for women not to get involved in these sports?

ANSWER: Of course, they must not be involved at all in such public sports, this is totally prohibited! Who cares what others say? They criticize everything in our religion as they are disbelievers. Even if you do everything they want, still they won’t be happy with you.

QUESTION: New comers to our uni used to organize a cultural event including singing dancing and etc. Colleague students work for many days to make that event great. They have asked us to send them juices when they are tired amidst working for that event. Is this permissible to send them juices?
