QUESTION: My friends have photos of me on their phones. I think my photos are safe there and no non-mahram will see it, but I saw your video in which you said that the phone has a chance of being stolen or hacked etc. so it is not recommended for women to take photos. So am I sinful if I don’t ask my friends to delete photos of me?

ANSWER: No problem in men sharing their pictures where nonmahrams may see him providing he is not fitha for women and that his awrah is properly covered.

QUESTION: If someone has pictures with filters on (that blurs pimples etc away) should he delete it? Because I seen a tweet of yours where you stated that it is haram but I couldn’t understand how make up that covers pimples and beautifies the skin is permissible but a filter that does the same is haram.

ANSWER: Make up is a form of beautification that is temporary and permissible. Editing or photo shopping a photograph like this is changing the creation of Allah.

QUESTION: Every normal girl from every normal household is becoming a lifestyle influencer these days. It’s like a pandemic. Isnt becoming an influencer giving 100% access to your photos and videos as bad as becoming an actress on tv? What about their earnings from brand collabs?? Isnt it haram? QUESTION: I wanted to clarify in regards to following someone only with their permission on instagram and then seeing their pictures. I meant that if I followed someone where they post pictures of themselves, but their acc is private. Is it halal to still follow them?

ANSWER: If she is of the same gender as you and she allows you to watch her page and it is halal what she is posting, this is permissible. But if she is posting haram photos or you are not a female, this is prohibited even if she permits you.
