I told one person that if u have accumulated riba then give this money like into a fine for example if u got a parking ticket then can a person pay riba money towards that ticket? Did i advise him wrong he knows riba is wrong but i thought is that way fine to get rid of riba money? If im wrong what shud i tell him now?

ANSWER: You were totally wrong in advising him without knowledge! The interest money must be given away to Poor or needy Muslims, in order to cleanse your wealth from haram money, not to benefit from it! You must tell him you said that out of ignorance.

Can a lady who is poor and husband bedridden and her daughter getting married the Sunnah way,can one give her interest money to help in her marriage whatever little expenses she may need as One has been given a lot of interest money to distribute to poor of a person who died?does not have pure money.Please reply.

ANSWER: Interest money must be given to Muslim charity in order to cleanse ones wealth without anticipating any reward from it. If they are classified as poor or needy, this is permissible.

ANSWER: If he took this riba based loan and now he is remorseful and shows sincere repentance to never do this again, you can help him pay it off. But if he is not remorseful, you must not give him anything as this would encourage him and others to take such a riba based loan.

I work in a bookshop.A man from a bank comes to us and sells “change money”.For our customers we need change money. He takes 1020 taka for 1000taka. My question is, is it halal what he is taking from us or we are giving extra 20 taka per thousand “change money”?

ANSWER: This is not permissible at all as it is riba which is totally prohibited in Islam.

ANSWER: Taking an interest based loan is prohibited.

My question is that can you give a commercial building of your own for rent to a bank ? Is it permissable ?because my father is a religious person and he is of the view that the principles or activities on which a Bank deal are prohibited in islam. So i need your guidence in this manner that would it be permissible to allow a bank to take your building as a rent or not ?

ANSWER: Your father is correct. If it’s a conventional riba(interest) based bank then this is totally prohibited because it’s assisting and facilitating haram. And Allah said in the Qur’an do not co operate each other in evil.

sheikh my father is involved in in riba since very long , we brothers have tried our level best to explain him. He says he is not using te money in food but in unnecessary things like electric bills and and other housebhold bills… what should we do how to make him stop this .. what is the ruling for it and is it ok to spend this money like this .

ANSWER: It is totally prohibited to take riba, in fact it’s a major sin. However the money he’s spending on his family is halal for them and the sin is totally on the father alone.

ANSWER: No, you cannot repay your debt from the interest money. You must not utilize this haram money for your own benefit. This needs to be given to the poor and needy muslims.

V recently started the construction of our house during the process for permission all the government fee was paid but ther were men who bribed us fr taking d money out of corruption dey asked more money whch v were forced to gv so gave interest money frm bank account is it acceptable? ANSWER: This is not permissible. Any interest money that has been accumulated from a bank account must be given to a poor or needy Muslim in order to cleanse your wealth and not for personal gain. You must give the same amount you gave them to Muslim charity to cleanse your wealth.
