Based on your website and videos I have concluded that it is bid’ah to raise the hands and make dua after prayer as this is the time for Dhikr. However, let us say I want to make dua after Asr on Friday as the time between Asr and Maghrib on Friday is a time for dua. Should I not raise my hands during this time? When can I raise my hands and make dua?

ANSWER: You can raise your hands at that time as this is a time of answering. You are doing that not because it is after fard prayer but rather because it is the last hour of Friday.

Imam starts reciting fatiha before I complete Dua istifta and other duas.. Should I continue saying them or stop and listen to the imam?

Should we do sujood sahu if we recite Sami Allahuliman hamdia behind an imam (out of forgetfulness or otherwise)? Is it adding something to salah?

ANSWER: No, you should not.

In the ruku, I got distracted and forgot whether I recited ‘subhana rabbiyal adeem’ correctly or not. So, I repeated the dhikr once more during the ruku. But, when I rose up from ruku, the imam had already begun to bend down to say ‘Allahu akbar’ inorder to go for sujood. Is this raka valid? Should I repeat the whole prayer now?

ANSWER: If you were not in the standing position while the imam was standing, this rakah is invalid.

Can I pray any nafil after witr?

When the wind passes while praying, is it obligatory to wash the private part and wudu or just wudu again and then restart prayer?

ANSWER: You do not have to wash yourself after passing wind as this is an innovation only done by the shia.

I suffer from cervical ectropion from 4 years and have abnormal vaginal discharge ever since. It is getting very difficult to wash my private parts before every salah. Excessive washing is making the vaginal health worse and washing so often caused severe contact dermatitis on hands. Can I combine prayers? And is it sufficient to run water over the private area instead of washing to attain purity?

While making niyyah for prayer, is it enough to mentally know that I will be prayer Fardh or Sunnah of certain prayer, or do I have to silently say in mind that I will pray this prayer?

ANSWER: It’s not permissible to say it in your mind. Your niyyah is in your intention, heart and actions. No need to verbalize it.

Sheikh, is it Mandatory to enter the Masjid with right foot first and then the left foot next? And leaving with the left foot first and then the right foot next? And also what is the Du’a to be said when entering the Masjid and when leaving the Masjid?

ANSWER: This is the sunnah. The authentic duaa is to say: bismillah, Allahumma salli Ala Mohammed, allahumma iftahli Abwab rahmatic when entering and something similar to that when exiting.

Is it permissible for men to pray a jamaah in the masjid before the main one, provided that the time for prayer has begun?
