QUESTION: At school, I don’t have the space to pray.So I go to the nearest mosque on my lunch break to pray dhuhr as soon as it starts.But I don’t have the time to wait for the jama’a as I’d miss my next class, so I pray seperately, on my own. Sometimes the jama’ah starts while I’m still praying on my own, is it permissible to continue praying? I also don’t know how to pray in congregation correctly yet

ANSWER: If you are a female, no problem in praying on your own even if the jamah starts because its not mandatory on women to pray in the masjid in congregation.

QUESTION: When I’m offering Salah and the surah I recite after surah fateha has a sajdah in it (e.g. surah Alaq), do I perform sajdah right away and then get back up and go for the rukuh or do I offer prayer like I always do and after saying assalamualaikum wa rehmatullah (complete in the Salah), I stand up and do sajdah separately? Please guide.

ANSWER: You do it immediately (if you wish, since doing it is not mandatory) and then go to ruku and continue the prayer. You must not do it after the prayer is over as the time has passed for it.

QUESTION: In a building which has 2 floors, the first floor is doctors office and the the 2nd floor is a masjid. Is it ok to pray Jumuah in that masjid?

ANSWER: If there is no close by real masjid, this is permissible.

QUESTION: The 5 fard prayers were made fard by Allah in the incident of al-Isra wal-Miraj. And the sunnah prayers are the ones that our Rasool (pbuh) used to pray regularly. I am curious that when and how the witr prayer became wajib.

ANSWER: Witr is wajib only upon the prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam. We don’t have any reference to when it was mandated upon him.

QUESTION: Is any point in eating halal avoiding certain haram if you dont pray? Question in Detail: For example some “muslims” say dont eat that its haram and so strict on that but they dont pray because they are muslims”

ANSWER: These are two separate matters. Not praying is a major sin and can mount to kufr if it is all the time. However, we would encourage such people as well disbelievers to do as many good deeds as possible as one doesn’t know when Allah will expand their chest and hearts to the truth.

QUESTION: If I enter the Masjid and intend to pray a fardh prayer (not in congregation) should I pray tahiyatul Masjid first?

ANSWER: There is no need to pray tahyyatul masjid in this case as you will start with the fard and this would suffice.

QUESTION: If I pray Asr prayer after the sun has started to set hasn’t completely set yet, so the magrib time is not reached yet,…. but without any legitimate reason, just because of laziness, will the prayer be valid????

ANSWER: This is the prayer of a hypocrite. If you manage to offer one full rakah before it sets, the prayer is valid.

QUESTION: I joined the imam in the 2nd rakah of maghrib. He thought it was his last and was about to make Salam but people corrected him. He then prayed the third rakah and performed sajd e sahu. Should I also perform sajd e sahu or not as it is my 2nd rakah.

ANSWER: If he performed it before the salam, you must offer it with him as well. But if he performed it after the salam, you don’t offer it with him as you must stand up to make up your missed rakah and then complete your prayer as usual.

QUESTION: My college school always plans vacational trips on Fridays and it’s just something planned for fun. As a Muslim am I sinful for missing Khutbah to go to this trips.

QUESTION: I am student. As a student i always need to study till late night so that i can complete my syllabus. As a result i cannot pray my fazr prayer in time. I pray the fazr prayer after juhur / Asor. Am i sinful? If i am then will Allah forgive me??

ANSWER: Of course you are sinful and committing a major sin. This is a sign of hypocrisy when you skip fajr like this for worldly matters as you are preferring your studies over paradise and over obeying Allah.
