During the the salat Al-Istikhara, is it permissible to say the specific dua in french?

ANSWER: This is not permissible. You must recite the dua of istekhara in Arabic only. If you don’t know how to say it and can’t even read it from a paper, it is permissible to read it in your native language.

In our mosque people don’t want to pray filling the gaps between them…..in each row 20 people can stand but instead 12 people stand….if I want to fill the gap the one beside my right and my left stop me….none wants to come from the row behind to fill the gap….so should I stretch my legs and increase the distance between the two legs in order to fill the gap

ANSWER: You must stand normally without stretching your feet apart! Simply move towards the person next to you to the direction of the Imam as the sin lies on the other person who refuses to come closer to you.

Even after I have become a practising Muslim, I have missed a great deal of fard Salah, especially Fajr. I have repented sincerely that I’ll never miss it anymore, and yet, I find myself falling back to it again. I’m aware that this is a major sin. Will fasting Ramadan properly expiate this particular sin completely?

ANSWER: Missing obligatory prayers is a major sin that may mount to kufr, and fasting ramadan is not a kaffara for missing these prayers, but one must repent sincerely, not to miss prayers in the future and to do lot of good deeds.

When praying in congregation and the imam gives the Salam to his right side should we follow him when he’s doing it or should we wait for him to say it on both sides then say it or other?

Will i be held accountable, if i wake up for fajr, but do not bother to wake up another person sleeping beside me to pray?

ANSWER: Yes. If you did your best to wake that person but he/she didn’t wake up, you have done your job and are not accountable.

If a traveller comes to the mosque, should he then pray all the sunnah prayers, or only the jamaah prayers?

ANSWER: A traveller does not pray the sunnah prayers except the sunnah of Fajr and Witr.
