QUESTION: In india , a video showed a groom stating during his nikha ceremony that he is adding a share of his lifelong salah (islamic prayers) to girl’s name as additional mehar(dowry), stipulating that this commitment would only end upon his death. QUESTION: Where I live, the friday/eid khutbah is done in a language that I don’t understand. However the screens flash the English translation of the khutbah. Can I read from that translation to understand what’s being said? Otherwise I don’t really gain much benefit from listening to the khutbah.
