QUESTION: If i as a traveller joins a imam at the start or in the middle of a prayer and i want to pray zuhur and asr, should i pray 4 rakahs of zuhur with the imam or can i give salam after 2 rakahs then stand up to pray asr?

ANSWER: If the Imam is a resident imam and is praying full then you must follow him & pray in full and after you conclude the dhuhr, you can combine Asr (2 rakahs) to it.

QUESTION: If you see someone going to pray alone and you give him congregation, and you didn’t make your sunnah after prayer, does this count as your sunnah , or you have to pray it after this congregation.

ANSWER: If you intended it to be sunnah, this suffices.

QUESTION: One imam from our mosque leads with Sajdah and Insaan every friday fajr. A number of uncles have not been happy with this, for them it takes a lot of time and they find it difficult, and also they need to get to work shortly (late fajr in winter). What should the imam do?

ANSWER: He should continue to observe the sunnah regardless. He can however, make the iqamah for prayer 5 or 10 minutes earlier so that he would finish on time.

QUESTION: Is it sinful to pray taraveeh and witr in congregation in the first row if it has pillar?

ANSWER: It is an issue of dispute whether it is sinful or only not recommended. The companions used to beat up their young children for praying between pillars as the prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam told them not to do so. One should avoid it especially when there is enough space in the masjid.

QUESTION: if you apply lipstick on and some enters your mouth and mixes with you saliva and you swallow this during salah does it break it?

ANSWER: If it has mass and you intentionally swallow it then it breaks salah, otherwise it doesn’t

QUESTION: Sheikh in jummah Salah the imam starts the khutba right after the adhan so if I say the dua after adhan I would be making the dua for about 5 seconds overlapped with the imam’s khutba so is this permissible or is this considered talking during the khutba?

QUESTION: I’m from Bangladesh. My question is about praying witr salat. In ramadan we pray witr in jamat right after taraweeh. 1.Prophet muhammad pbuh said, whoever prays with imam until he finishes, it will be recorded for him as if he prayed the whole night. 2. In another hadith he pbuh said Make the last of your prayer at night witr. when should i Pray witr?

ANSWER: Pray it with the Imam in Taraweeh and if you want to pray home when you go home, you can while not repeating Witr.

QUESTION: I know that the hadith about salat-al-tasbih is not authentic. But on Thursday at my school, they’re gonna make us pray it and they’re forceful about it. Will I be sinful if I attend the prayer?
