if a person says: ” Oh Allah, if you make “something” happen, i will pray fajr everyday ” ? Fajr prayer is something Allah enjoined us. So is this vow invalid? No kaffara needed if he doesnt pray fajr? I heard that making vow to something which is already fard (like praying fajr) is invalid. So it is like this person didn’t make a vow.Is this true?

The majority of scholars say that such an vow doesn’t take place. However, if one misses Fajr prayer, he should expiate for that as it is like an oath.

What is tge rule one one says if this man leaving my daughter i will fast for 2 months. The lady is about 70 years her daughter had a lot of problems with her husband. Is it ok to take oaths like saying if i get job or my this particular problem gets solves or if my mother gets cured i will offer 10 rakahs or 4 etc. rakahs of nawafil prayers??? Or like if Allah grants me this particular wish i will offer some nawafil rakahs

You must not take such vows as you are mandating something upon yourself which Allah didn’t mandate. Make general duaa to Allah instead.

shaikh, there is a problem with some people here. when they want us to say something or someone’s secret, etc they say “i give you Allah’s kasam (swear), say this or tell me his secret” and such things and people thinking that if they don’t disclose it, it will be like breaking Allah’s oath. how to make them understand?
