My brother is working in Maersk shipping lines as second officier. As we know shipping lines carry the bulk of the goods from place to place which sometimes includes Alcohol and pork as well. Is it inappropriate for him to be part of the job or should he continue with his job. What can i suggest him.

ANSWER: As long as he doesn’t know about his cargo, he is ok! If he knows that he is transferring pork, intoxicants or anything haram, this is not permissible for him.

My question is about the permissibility of selling women’s clothing such as kurtis, salwar (indian wear). Is there any prohibition in selling these. Majority of the buyers would be non muslim women as I live in India.

ANSWER: This is a bribe which is a major sin!

There are online jobs that have the ability to earn money thru direct and indirect referral. If I’m able to refer Ms X for instance,and she joined, I earn money, If Ms X refers Ms Z, and she joins as well, I also earn money even though I didn’t refer her but by the person that I reffered before. In short, I still earn money even though I didn’t invite anyone else but as long as they invite others.

ANSWER: You must not take orders of birthdays, anniversaries etc and the money earned through such orders will not be halal for you. If they order a cake but you don’t know why it is for, there is no sin on you in this as you don’t have to investigate or ask!
