In our country(Democratic) the government is making sculptures of the founding father of our country. The Islamic Scholars are opposing it.But, the government says that in Islam idols are prohibited, not sculptures to which we don’t pray to.And they give examples of Muslims country like Saudi Arabia as they also have sculptures. ANSWER: This does not effect the validity of your prayers, however it’s totally prohibited to grow your nails like this.  It’s mandatory to cut them off within 40 days and if they grow before that time then you MUST cut them off immediately instead of imitating the disbelievers.

I have recently gotten married and my wife used to do her own eyebrows and I informed that this so sinful. She has now stopped threading alhumdulilah. However, now her eyebrows grow very strange and I don’t feel attracted to her anymore. What to do? Can she go back to threading them to look normal again. I used to draw pictures and was really good at it, but after learning about the ruling I stopped. Must I throw my old ones away or can I keep them, as long as they are hidden? I want to use them as a reminder for myself and as motivation to get rid of more habits.

ANSWER: If these are pictures of living beings with head and facial features then it’s totally prohibited and you must burn them or shred them up and throw away, besides sincerely repenting to Allah as the one who draws such things are the most severely tormented people on the day of judgement.
