I want to purchase a gift box containing items for Ramadan (dates, prayer mats, etc) but part of the set is a book on Allah’s Names, and the author appears to have had Sufi inclinations. Can I purchase the gift box but throw away the book?

ANSWER: You need to verify whether this book is authentic or not. If it is not, you shouldn’t buy the whole box as this would benefit the author and increases its sales which makes people think that it is a good book.

If one has cold water and hot water in winter to make wudu and chose cold thinking to bring near Allāh. This is putting burden and being extreme as said by Ulama.
