QUESTION: Is it right for a parent to ask their daughter to leave the house to buy groceries for them, or should that be the job of the male family members. I don’t know if I should obey them and go out or follow the verse of staying in the house.

ANSWER: No problem if its a safe place and you are dressed properly in an Islamic abaya and behave modestly when outside.

ANSWER: If he such a person was labeled as kafir for not praying, by a Muslim court or authorized Islamic center, you can’t eat from what that person has slaughtered because he is a Kafir. But if it was not proven that he is an apostate, you can eat from it.

QUESTION: There are many people non Muslim country who want money to make masjids in there country so if I donate money and they build masjid and they may follow innovations there. Will I be sinful? Should I donate to build masjid where I will not have any authority to stop innovations?

ANSWER: You must investigate before giving and not donate to masjids that do innovations so that you don’t take part in innovation or endorse such sinful things.

QUESTION: Someone sent me a birthday card (Online) to invite us. And when I I said that we don’t celebrate birthdays so we can’t come that person said we are actually not celebrating any birthday. It’s just a dinner. There won’t be a cake as well. Also, the actual birth date is 10 days before the day of celebration/dinner. What should we do? Are we allowed to go as we shouldn’t deny any invitation?

ANSWER: If the invitation says it’s regarding birthday then you must not go. The invitation that must not be rejected is that of walima, providing you have no excuse to reject (it must be a halal function with no music, no free mixing between non mahrams etc)

QUESTION: We need to finish every seed of the pomegranate when we eat it as it’s a fruit of jannah,can we throw the leftover if it’s sour or for any other reason?

ANSWER: No problem in throwing what you don’t like of it and you don’t need to eat it all. Just because it is a fruit of Jannah, this doesn’t give it any speciality in this life.

QUESTION: I have a friend who works for a bank in Canada. They are aware their money is haram. They are currently studying with the intention of finding a halal career while still working at the bank. Unfortunately, they are unable to quit as they are the sole provider for their family. The question is: how should they go about cleansing their haram money once they are able to quit.

ANSWER: Whatever they have in their possession must be given to the poor and needy as a form of cleansing. What they have used and consumed is already gone and they can’t do anything about that.
