QUESTION: I work in a school, I am in full hijab (not niqab and I do not wear makeup). I spend 90% of my time with children and the other time is made up of meetings and sometimes teachers may enter my office if the have concern for a student. I do not initiate conversation with any male staff, at most I may say good morning or return a good morning or Salaam. My family is dependent Is my work halaal?

ANSWER: If you teach a halal subject and teach only girls or boys under the age of 10 and do not free mix with men and are abiding by the proper Islamic hijab then your job is halal.

QUESTION: Is it permissible to let my uncle’s wife use my arm to help her walk since she is very old?

ANSWER: No, this is not permissible as she’s a non mahram to you and Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam said its better for you to be stabbed in the head by a metal needle than to touch a non mahram!

QUESTION: Some couples make a cast of their child’s hand and feet for memory? Is that permissible? Its basically a mold of their child’s feet and hands.

ANSWER: It is not permissible to disobey authorities in halal things. You are sinful for breaking the law and most likely you will cause others to insult Islam and Muslims for making the area dirty or for harming these animals with such food.

ANSWER: This is totally prohibited! You must cut all communication and contact with her and with any other non mahram females because islam promotes & mandates segregation between non mahrams!

QUESTION: I’m a travel agent from Kashmir India. I give packages and make arrangements of accommodation and transportation for the clients . Most of the times, we provide them transportation service from airport to airport. However, in some rare cases, some clients ask to drop them at Katra where there they have some hindu temple. Is the income that I generate from this transportation halal?

ANSWER: If this (katra) is a city and have other tourist places then no problem. But if you are certain that they want to go there to worship their false gods and they tell you about it, this is not permissible.
