ANSWER:

Beating him up has two consequences, either you will give him a good beating which may injure him or lead to him reporting you to the police or he would give you a good wiping which will break you and humiliate you till the rest of your life.

You should talk this over with your mother and if she agrees, you must either kick him out of the house or report him to the police so that he would be aware of the consequences of his own actions before he beats up your mother or do something really criminal. 

QUESTION: Sheikh my 20 year old younger brother is very rude to my mother. I tried to speak to him gently but he keeps doing it. I tried to be patient but it’s very difficult when it occurs often. Islamically speaking would I be rewarded if I use violence to defend my mother and teach him a lesson or would I be sinful?

QUESTION: When my parents come to visit me and my children my wife misbehaves with them and fights with me afterwards saying that my parents have no right to come in my house. My parents live in their own house normally. I know that my wife has the right to a separate house in Islam but can she refuse to allow my parents to come to my house for a visit also?
