Reciting the Quran for the deceased is not permissible as it’s an innovation.

QUESTION: If I read Surah Mulk every night with the niyyat for the protection of a closed one who is deceased, does the sawaab goes to him or the protection, similarly for reading Quran during Ramadan for a deceased one
