Is it allowed that the hands are covered from my long head scarf during prayer, (I’m not wearing gloves) so just face can be seen (there are no non mahrams just me alone)?

ANSWER: The sunnah is not to cover the hands as long as there is no non mahram around but if it is covered due to the head cover being too long, this is ok.

Women abaya shampoo (to wash abaya) contains perfume in it.Is it permissible to use these shampoos to wash our outer garment because our outer garment may have some fragrance after getting washed? Does it comes under those women who wear perfume and go outside?

ANSWER: Some abayah shampoos are so strong that men usually think that this is perfume. If this is the case, it is not permissible to use such shampoos.

How must one who wants to start wearing niqab deal with the non mahrams in her family who don’t view it as obligatory? Also if she wears niqab can she go chat with them but wearing niqab, not alone in the room together. Is it impermissible to chat regularly with non mahram family members? Thank you

ANSWER: She must wear the niqab in front of non mahram family members as well. It’s not permissible for her to chit-chat, hang around or socialise with them at all. Therefore, she simply ignores them and not reply to them if they insist on mixing with her and socializing.

It is said that we should have a high voice and no need to act to be polite when dealing with non mahram but our Prophet saw said that we should be nice to everyone even to our enemies too. Then how should we deal with opposite gender?

ANSWER: Allah said in the Quran be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease (of hypocrisy, or evil desire for adultery) should be moved with desire, but speak in an honourable manner.

I’m 13 from Germany and I want to wear Niqab but I know that my mothers views on it are that it is too extreme, it was hard for me to convince her to just buy me a jilbab and I said I just want it for Salah. I don’t know what to do.. I think that Niqab is mandatory but I really really don’t know how I should wear it, my friend said that for now I can just wear a mask but what about gloves?

ANSWER: You must be diplomatic in your approach and can wear it without telling her if this upsets her. Wearing the face mask is also another alternative when needed as long as it covers the face well from all sides.

If a woman doesn’t cover her hands till her ankle and foot will she be punished for that ?

ANSWER: This is not permissible. She must conceal it in front of non-mahrams as this is a form of adornment.

Dear sheik, so my husband is trying to force my 15 yo daughter to wear an abaya when she doesn’t want to. She already wears a hijab, and is deciding to take it slow. He is also saying shit like they shouldn’t listen to music and whateve.

ANSWER: He has all the right given by Allah to stop his daughters from doing anything haram! Music is haram in islam! She must obey him in wearing the abaya and you must support him in such a decision by explaining to her about her identity and the honor and pride of a Muslim.

Is it ok to wear hijab for a woman while performing wudu at home or when she is in dua? Is she obliged to do so? Did prophet Muhammad ﷺ recommended it? Please clarify the Sunna of wearing hijab at these times for women.

ANSWER: If there are no non mahram around, no need to cover herself up with hijab while doing anything. Hijab is not a requirement for dua or wudhu.

I started to face cover because husband told to cover the face for the sake of Allah and even Alhamdulillah i too like to cover.but my parents always scold me not to cover the face even they scold my husband too and there are scolding and blaming us too.so sheikh in this situation what should i do? Will i earn my parents curse?

ANSWER: Of course not! Continue to cover the face and do not pay any attention to what your parents say (while maintaintaining being respectful towards them), their curses would not affect you. There’s no obedience to anyone at the cost of disobedience to Allah.
