ANSWER:

It is not permissible to use such gifts or to keep them as they were not given in the first place except as a result of such haram relationship similar to a bribe that is given to an official! The official must not keep such a gift after repenting and must dispose of it.

QUESTION: A year ago I was in a haram relationship but not now Alhamdulillah. And while we were in that haram, she used to give some gifts like Qur’an, prayer mat, t-shirt, backpack, etc. My question is, can I still use those things? Note: 1. These things don’t remind me of her. 2. I’m using them because they are a necessity at the moment.
