ANSWER:

Her dad is still her wali.

She should be more worried about severing her ties of kinship with her father and his family as this is one the major sins in Islam, rather than who would be her Guardian for marriage!

She must contact her father and reach out to him and must maintain ties of kinship with him and also maintain kinship with her dad’s parents, siblings etc

QUESTION: Sheikh,a girl whose parents are divorced since years ago and her dad doesn’t visit them or talk to them neither cares or anything about her. She has no contact with him and neither her dads family.Now the sister is worried about the marriage and her wali. Is her dad still her wali or if not then whos the wali of her,since also her dads family have 0 contact with her?

QUESTION: I’m a guy. My sis got engaged but didn’t do nikah yet. Now she’s going out with her engaged husband for wedding-related shopping. Must I go with them since I’m her mahram or will I be sinful for going with them because those 2 are non mahram & by going will I be assisting them with their sin of interaction with non mahram?
