No problem in eating halal food given to you, without you participating in their kufr gatherings or celebrations nor is it permissible to greet them back, you can simply say thank you.

QUESTION: If my non-Muslim friends give me sweets on the occasion of their festivals (like the current one — the festival of lights), is it permissible to eat them or to greet them back using the same words they say?

QUESTION: 5 years ago I wasnt practicing Islam and there was an incident where I sold a car to a dealer and I told him about all its information,also about one large scratch on the doors,which he didn’t see before, but I didn’t mention that the car was making a certain noise sometimes when driving.
