QUESTION: I recently heard that in some areas of Pakistan, people dig a woman’s grave deeper than a man’s. The explanation given was that women supposedly commit more sins, so their graves are made deeper so that their cries during punishment are not heard. Is there any basis for this belief in Islam or in authentic Islamic teachings about burial?
