ANSWER:

One must be proud of his Islam and give Islamic or Arabic names. It is inappropriate to give such altered names just to blend in with the disbelievers. 

QUESTION: Is it permissable to name a child “Noah” in Islam , or is it permissible to name a child Nuh and call him “Noah”.

This has become a culture now, even sometimes the groom comes prepared to give them money.
