ANSWER:

He must follow the imam and after the salam, he must stand up to make up for the rakah that was invalidated by skipping that pillar.

QUESTION: Ya sheikh I have watched your video on missing a pillar behind an imam ..what if a person misses a pillar such as a sujood when praying behind an imam and he got up and stood to pray the second rakah..here now he realizes that he only did 1 sujood..should he soon go back and make the 2nd sujood and join the imam or continue and after finishing pray an extra rakah and then sujood as sahu?
