ANSWER:

It’s not mandatory to give the adhan if its already given in any masjid in the city.

Reciting the iqamah is a highly recommended sunnah but it’s not mandatory and the prayer is valid even if one skips it intentionally.

QUESTION: We are reverts & stay in kaafir area. I pray obligatory salah in congregation with my mother & wife at home. Is it mandatory to give adhan & iqama before congregational prayer at home? Are our prayers valid if we don’t give (1) iqama & (2) adhan? Masjid is approximately 3.5kms away
