If you were asked and you reported it, this is totally permissible as it is part of enforcing virtue and preventing evil.
The hadeeth refers to the sins between individual and Allah that are not related to others!
It surely doesn’t apply when seeing someone rape or kill someone else and you turn a blind eye as if you saw nothing!
