No problem in this as long as the father is doing that willingly without the groom’s side forcing or pressuring him to do so.

QUESTION: Some people do Nikah on a day and Valima on the next immediate day and they have feasts for both. But I was told that only Valima feasts is from Sunnah and that Nikah feasts is not from Sunnah. So should we not attend Nikah feasts, sheikh?
