There is a difference between having a treaty that is specified and time bound where the Muslims could regroup and regains strength to fight back again and between normalizing relationships and becoming allies to the invaders and the enemies of Allah.

QUESTION: Sheikh.when muslims lost j*rus*lem the first time around,they still had a treaty with the non-muslims.Even salahuddin ayyubi may Allah have mercy on him had a treaty with the kuffar.My question is why is it then that nowadays if someone recognises isr*el it is considered an act of betrayal against the ummah? Maybe my understanding is wrong I just want to learn
