ANSWER:

If this individual is extreme and not properly following the way of the prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, you must not befriend him and you must obey your parents.

But if he is righteous and practicing has good akhlaq and follows the sunnah with wisdom and according to the understanding of the 3 favorite generations, you must not listen to your parents in this regards. 

QUESTION: Sheikh is that haram to keep a friendship who makes us closer to our Deen (surely not with the opposite gender) even if our parents don’t want us to have such friendships because they’re scared if we get brainwashed? If we keep our friendship, will we be disobeying our parents?

QUESTION: Well, please tell me if parents are giving trouble, burden, cursing, obscenities, preferring son, Being a girl, spending money is considered a waste and even denying basic rights like clothes, food, education and even disease. Even if the treatment is not done, then will not Allah punish those parents a lot? Please tell me?
