The more you are remorseful and making duaa that Allah forgives you, the better your chances are. 

QUESTION: Sheikh, I wanted to ask if someone wants to repent from a sin is it neccessary to do a dua or is it sufficient to just intend to never do it again regret the past and quit it immediatly and if you have time does a person need to constantly think about it or is it ok if they forget about it but when they remember they have regret and know how bad it was.
