QUESTION: I’m a bit confused. We know shirk is the gravest sin in Islam, and makes it impossible to enter jannah if you die upon it. However I have a question whether this is the same for dying upon minor shirk. Does it also have the same consequence, and if so, why is there a distinction between major and minor shirk?

ANSWER:

Minor shirk is a major sin but it won’t place the person in hell for eternity like major shirk.
