You can fast any day you want for the sake of fasting and not for any other reason and then you can make as much dua as you want, especially before breaking the fast.

QUESTION: I know that we can’t fix a day and fast for Palestinians as it would be an innovation. But can we fast on any other day randomly with an intention to pray and make Dua for Palestinians?
