You are not obliged to obey him but you should not confront him to avoid any fights or disrespect. Try to pray without him seeing you.

QUESTION: I know that the most authentic way of salah is doing raf ul yadain and placing the hands on the chest. My father once found me praying that way and repremanded me saying no one in our family prays or has ever prayed like that. Should I obey him or not?
