You give zakat according to the price you would get today if you were to sell it. 

QUESTION: I have gone to many shops to sell gold however they gave me less than 50% of the value of the gold price unfortunately.Now when giving the zakat in cash should I go for the ongoing market price of the gold or the price which I got by selling the gold?
