QUESTION: I have converted to Islam but my wife is still a christian, she told me that if i convert she can no longer be with me. I tried to explain to her that i converted but once i saw her reaction i made it seem as if i was not serious about it because i want to protect my marriage for my kids. Is it a sin to keep my islam a secret to my wife? What should i do?

ANSWER:

You must come out of the closet and announce your Islam.

This might be a reason for her to consider Islam and be saved from eternal hellfire.

If she refuses, you can stay married to her as she is Christian. But if she chooses to leave, you will be better off with a new Muslim wife and a new life.
