If they are abusing your wife to her face and saying hurtful things, she must not visit them as she is not obliged to do so, especially if she doesn’t have a man who would stand up for her and protect her. 

QUESTION: I am married and have my own accommodation. There have been times some immediate family members make comments about my wife or her parents to me saying they don’t do this right etc etc, how do I deal with this appropriately without my wife feeling uncomfortable visiting my parents house where they all live?
