ANSWER:

If he is unable to afford it, he is not obliged to kill himself! If he is lying, Allah will hold him accountable for his actions. You on the other hand must be respectful and dutiful to him or you will reserve your seat in hell as disrespecting him is one of the major sins in Islam.

As a man, you should man up and work to earn and help your mother. 

QUESTION: How to deal with a father who is stingy and gets angry all the time at anything even if you speak respectfully? He always pretends he doesn’t earn and so my divorced mother has to work to pay rent and living expenses. He brings one meal every 3 days and spends around 400-500 $ on both me and my sister per month but the cost of living as you know is very expensive. He shouts and says im ungrateful
